in your situation it sounds like none of the options are really worth it. cod has about a 6 hour campaign. depending on difficulty. not worth it if your only gonna play it as a single player game. halo is like some one else said without the custom maps and things it lacks a lot. but i hear good things about the campaign(better than cod) SC2 is amazing but if your having issues with low frame rate its probably better to push off till you have a better computer.

so that leaves you to games dedicated to single player. as they are probably what you would like the most. since you don't have gold. my suggestion is Mass Effect 2. Dragon age 1 or 2 although 2 is a much faster paced game but is very repetitive in the areas you go to which gets annoying. you could get fable 2 or 3. there are tons of games and i would suggest them over those three any day given the quality of your pc and that you don't have live.

Starcraft 1! You won't have any trouble running it, and one copy gets you infinite amounts of fun. LAN games never get old. You can use the same copy on two computers, and play with your brother. Seriously, it's a great game. It's only like 10-20 bucks now too. Also, have a look at Diablo 2. Another great LAN game. Seriously, can't go wrong with either of those games.

First you got to think in the basic thing: why would you buy an xbox 360? that's the big deal, I mean, I was an big xbox 360 fan until I saw the ps3 exclusive games, i got shocked, if you really like Halo the i will just shut up, but if you're an old shcool gamer you will prefer games like GOW 3 or MGS 4 i don't know, besides the network services for ps3 are free, but xbox live it isn't (BTW I'm not an ps3 promoter just for the case, I even loved xbox 360 until february). You just think about it... and for the game.... Call of duty black ops looks promising this is just my opinion...

Anyway, Black Cocks is garbage. Not only does Modern Warfare 2 have the better engine, the game also was way more advanced in gameplay mechanics and balancing. Half of the fucking guns in Black Cocks are USELESS and that's why most people stab each other with knifes and throw tomahawks and plant claymores everywhere. The game is not worth the money.

halo reach. sc2 is lame and cod sucks.... reach has a fun campaign a somewhat character customariness with a map and game type creator. they say get cod because it has zombies....ZOMBIES SUCKS!!! its very poorly done and you can shoot a zombies head clear off and he will still attack you.... also it gets very repetitive very fast to the point where you can predict where the zombies are going to come from... cod multiplayer is full of campers and noob tubes
